Write a Play

Five friends are in the cafeteria eating breakfast Saturday morning at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Rachel: "Okay guys, so what are you all wearing to Courtney's going away surprise party today?"
Stephanie: "Oh, I completely forgot about that!"
Morgan: "Yeah, are you sure that's today?"
Rachel: " Yeah, I'm almost positive it is. Isn't it?"
Kim: "I'm pretty sure it is."
Kollin: "Yeah, it is today. I have it saved in my calender in my phone. It's definitely today."
Stephanie: "Oh okay that's so exciting!"
Rachel: "Yeah, so what is everyone wearing?"
Kollin: "I'll probably wear a sun dress."
Kim: "Yeah, same. Can I actually borrow your blue dress Stephanie?"
Stephanie: "Yeah, sure!"
Rachel: "What are you wearing Steph and Morgan?"
Stephanie: "I'll probably wear my orange and pink sun dress and my white wedges."
Morgan: "I actually don't know if I'm going to go."
Kollin: "What? Why not?"
Kim: "Yeah why wouldn't you go?"
Morgan: "Well, I haven't been really feeling that well recently and I don't want to push myself because I really want to go out tonight."
Stephanie: "Yeah you probably should just rest all day then come out with us tonight."
Kollin: "Yeah, I agree."
Morgan: "Okay. I'm going back to my room now and sleeping all day."
Rachel: "Okay, feel better!"
Stephanie: "Yeah get some rest. We'll see you tonight."
Kim: "Call us when you wake up."
Morgan: "Okay I will. See you guys."

Kim, Stephanie, Rachel, and Kollin all go back to Rachel and Stephanie's dorm room to pick out their outfits and get ready.

Rachel: "Okay so how are we going to get to Courtney's house?"
Kim: "How is the other Courtney getting there?"
Stephanie: "She's probably going with Lou and Roy-al."
Kim: "Oh yeah, probably."
Kollin: "Someone call Lou and find out when they're leaving and if they can take us too."
Stephanie: "Kim, you call him. He loves you!"
Kim: "Okay."

Kim calls him and does not succeed in finding them a ride.

Kim: "Okay, he said he doesn't have enough room in his car for all of us so I don't know how were going to get there."
Kollin: "I'll call Courtney's roommate, Brian."

Kollin calls Brian and has better luck.

Kollin: "Okay, he said he could come get us, but he has to finish putting up all the decorations first."
Stephanie: "Okay good."
Rachel: "I guarantee we'll get a ride there and be stranded there because no one will want to bring us back to campus."
Stephanie: "Yeah, you're probably right, but we can just deal with that when we get there."
Kim: "Yeah, at least we have a ride there."

Brian comes and picks them up and they arrive at Courtney's before she arrives.

Stephanie: "Aw Brian, you did such a good job on the decorations!"
Brian: "Why thank you."
Rachel: "Oh my God, yeah! I absolutely love the beach theme."
Kollin: "Me too. So when is Courtney supposed to come?"
Brian: "Around 4:30."
Rachel: "Is the food ready yet?"
Brian: "Yes it is. There's ribs, lasagna, potato salad, and pulled pork."
Rachel: "I love pulled pork! I'm so excited to eat."
Stephanie: "Hahaha me too!"

Courtney arrives and she's completely surprised. We eat and have a great time. It starts to get dark out and they really want to leave and go back to campus to get ready for the rest of the night.

Stephanie: "Mel, can you take us back to campus now?"
Mel: "Right now?"
Rachel: "Yeah, we're so ready to go."
Mel: "I'm staying to watch the fight on television though."
Kollin: "When does it start?"
Mel: "Nine."
Kim: "We can't wait that long we need to leave now."
Rachel: "I'll call our neighbor Brandon to see if he can come get us."

Rachel calls him and he agrees.

Stephanie: "I hope he knows how to get here."
Rachel: "Yeah, I told him to call when he is by the mall."
Kollin: "We're only a few minutes away from there so that's perfect."

A few minutes later, Brandon arrives.

Rachel: "Brandon is here guys. Let's go."
Stephanie: "Thank you so much for coming and getting us Brandon. You're seriously the best!"
Kim: "Yeah, no one would take us back because they wanted to stay and watch the fight."
Brandon: "It's no big deal. Anytime."
Rachel: "You're seriously the best neighbor a girl could ever have!"
Kollin: "Love you Brandon!"
Brandon: "No problem guys. Love you too!"
